About the Alliance
Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
The American Children's Alliance exists to advocate for and support disabled, low-income, and marginalized children — and the families, veterans, and communities woven around them.
Mission
Advocating and empowering children and families through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
The American Children's Alliance is dedicated to advocating for and empowering disabled, low-income, and marginalized children and their families. We strive to ensure that every child has access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. ACA works to break down barriers, promote inclusivity, and foster a nurturing environment where all children can reach their full potential.
Vision
A community where every child — regardless of ability or background — has the opportunity to thrive.
The American Children's Alliance envisions a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment. We strive to be a leading advocate for children's rights, fostering a community where families are empowered, barriers to success are dismantled, and all children are celebrated for their unique strengths and contributions.
Our Story
How ACA began.
Our journey began through individual experiences and struggles as we navigated the challenges of raising children with special needs. We quickly realized there was a significant gap in the support network and advocacy available for special-needs children and their families in the United States.
Driven by a shared commitment to create change, we founded the American Children's Alliance in 2024 to build a network that connects families with the resources and advocacy they need. Our mission is to provide comprehensive services, ensuring families receive the support they deserve.
We believe every child should have the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we are dedicated to making that belief a reality for all children.

Compassion
We approach our work with empathy and understanding, recognizing the unique struggles families face and providing a caring community.
Collaboration
We value partnerships with families, organizations, and communities to create a network of support that enhances the well-being of children.
Integrity
We commit to transparency, honesty, and ethical practices in all our operations, upholding the trust of the families we serve.
Our Team
The people doing the work.
ACA is led by a board of directors who do the work alongside the volunteers. Shawna Loban is our founder and leads the organization's day-to-day operations. She is joined on the board by Jess Loban and Peter Galle, who shape ACA's strategy, partnerships, and growth.
The hands-on work — scholarship selection, community events, the holiday service visits to Pasco County veterans, and assembling care packages for military families — is carried out by volunteers and our students. Every decision we make keeps the children we serve at the center.
We are always looking for volunteers, partners, and community members who want to be part of the work.
